I would rather be reading a book, since at least I can read at my own pace. I've given quite a few games in this genre a fair go, but Rapture is just like all the others. This game obviously had a lot of careful attention and design put into it, so I don't mean to discount the developer's work, but it's my least favourite walking simulator I have played. I forced myself to progress to get to the ending even though I couldn't care about any of the characters and I won't spoil anything except say the ending was extremely anti-climactic and just made me wish I had quit the game when I first began to consider every minute a chore. I found myself turning my head away from the screen and turning the volume down whenever I encountered one of these. I hated the mechanics of this because it created a very unpleasant sound and blinding white light. However what the developers call "run" in this game is actually almost indistinguishable speed from walking so you slowly crawl around the environment, which I assume is to let you take in all the scenery.Įvery now and then you encounter a little orb of light which you must "tune" in order to get another window into the lives of these villagers. After a while of doing this I found it to be extremely boring and just wanted to run to find the next audio clip and progress towards the end because I felt myself close to quitting the "game". It was boring, walking around a pretty environment listening to short audio clip interactions between different people.

Maybe it was all the hype getting my expectations too high, but I just could not get into this game.
